Contributor for The Western Journal, Michael Schwarz, has some great advice for MAGA folk if they are ever approached by a reporter from the mainstream media. He says that if they come up to you, they have one mission: make you look like an idiot. Part of the twisted narrative the MSM wants to push is that Trump and those who support him are intellectually challenged, embarrassments to America. Why? Because nobody wants the masses to think of them as stupid. Liberals shame MAGA people in order to make others not want to be part of that movement, thus weakening its cultural and political influence.
However, as Schwarz also notes, the vast majority of Trump supporters are much smarter than the average bear, which translates to a higher level of intelligence than that possessed by a reporter.
In a video posted to YouTube on Wednesday, Trump supporter Joe Harner rightly bristled when CNN’s Elle Reeve implied that because Harner owned a boat, he had no reason to complain about inflation and the overall state of the economy. The exchange took place at the MAGA Boat Parade in Panama City Beach, Florida. At the beginning of the interview, Harner had the look of a man simply enjoying the sun as he stood near the water, shirtless, holding a University of Alabama beer can cooler in one hand and a Dixie cup in the other.
When asked about the 2024 election’s most important issue, Harner cited the economy, interest rates and especially inflation.
“Right now, it’s too expensive,” he commented.
And then, with unmitigated gall, Reeve made the insinuation that Harner’s personal financial situation should alleviate any worries or concerns he has about the state of the economy. This is infuriatingly rude.
“OK, now, let me maybe ask a slightly impolite question,” she started. “But, you know, if you could afford a boat, you’re not hurting so bad, right? Because a boat costs a lot of money, and it’s a lot of upkeep.”
Harner was offended at the rude question asked by Reeve and let her know it in no uncertain terms.
“Listen, nobody gave me sh**,” he fired off. “I’ve earned everything that I’ve got.”
Harner then revealed that he was successful because he retired from the military and handled his business like a man: the right way.
“I would never try to take anything away from you in that way,” Reeves said as she tried to smooth things over. “But what I’m asking is, groceries are probably a smaller part of your budget than say, someone who’s a little worse off. I think it’s interesting that people who are a little bit more comfortable are still so concerned about the economy.”
I guess the point Reeves is trying to make is that rich people shouldn’t be worried about the condition of poor people who are struggling to make ends meet. Isn’t that kind of the opposite of how liberals say we should be? I’m a bit confused here.
“Because I want my money to go further,” he retorted. “I want inflation to go down; I want interest rates to go back down; I want all that. But that covers everybody in the economy — not just me, not just the poor, not just the rich. It covers everybody.”
Bingo.
Lower inflation means lower cost of living. And that translates into more affordable goods and services, which helps those who are poor not only get the things they need to survive, but save up and dig out of their poverty. It is indeed good for everyone.
The mainstream media clearly have marching orders from the Democratic Party to run cover for Kamala Harris. Anything they can do to try and help her get elected, and that includes making MAGA crew look bad.
The lesson of the day is: don’t take the bait.
