There’s never a shortage of cringe when it comes to Vice President Kamala Harris who seems to have a perpetual case of teenage awkwardness that will reside with her until the day she shucks off her mortal coil and heads wherever the heck she ends up in the afterlife. The latest example we have is a comment that was made on Monday where she made use of the mother of all dirty words, the “F-dash-dash-dash” word, while doing a talk at the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies summit.
Here are more details on the ridiculous incident via The Daily Caller:
Harris attended the APAICS leadership summit held in Washington, D.C., where she touted access to abortion and “gun violence prevention” initiatives. While speaking to attendees on “breaking barriers,” Harris said that sometimes opportunities will be granted to individuals, but other times you have to “kick the f***ing door down.”
“And so to, especially the young people here, I say to you, when you walk in those rooms, being the only one that looks like you, the only one with your background, you walk in those rooms, chin up, shoulders back. Be a meeting room, a board room, a courtroom, a hearing room. You walk in those rooms knowing that we are all in that room with you. Applauding you on and expecting certain things from you. Including that you will not be silent in those rooms,” Harris started her speech, providing an answer to a question concerning her role as the first Asian American vice president.
Harris then commented on to repeat the advice she was given about standing up for herself.
“This is part of what’s involved, is that we have to know that sometimes people will open the door for you and leave it open. Sometimes they won’t. And then you need to kick that f***ing door down,” Harris stated. The comment earned a round of cheers and applause.
Folks on X had a lot to say about the clip online and weren’t shy about weighing in on the fact the vice president employed the use of profanity.
“An unprecedented use of public profanity by the [vice president,]” Newsmax White House correspondent James Rosen wrote on Twitter.

Honestly, the reason this is so cringe is because it looks like Harris is trying way too hard to fit in with young people and regular Americans. It reminds me of that time Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a Massachusetts Democrat, tried to look hip, cool, and down-to-earth by doing an Instagram livestream while drinking a beer. It just ended up looking desperate and forced.
And that’s the best way to describe this little comment. I don’t know how in the world Kamala Harris convinced the Democratic Party and Joe Biden to allow her to be the vice presidential running mate during the 2020 election. Well, that’s not exactly true. She has a reputation for, uh, really being a people — or should I say “man” — “pleaser” to achieve her ambitions. I’ll just leave it at that.
