Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party presidential nominee, is desperately attempting to sink her hooks into young voters and appear hip and with it, so she thought it would be a good idea to make an appearance on the very popular “Call Her Daddy” podcast, hosted by Alex Cooper. Her campaign thought this was a move guaranteed to start some buzz and excitement among both millennial and Gen z listeners. However, things did not go as planned and rather than bring in praise, the interview flopped harder than a pro Soccer player at the World Cup, drawing in wave after wave of criticism and negative reactions.
I can’t think of a better, more deserving person of ridicule than Kamala Harris. You?

Within 16 hours of its release on YouTube, the episode had only garnered 100,000 views—a surprisingly low number given the platform’s reach and the show’s usual audience. Even more telling, the video currently has over 11,000 dislikes compared to just 4,900 likes, giving it a dismal 31% favorability rating. Many users took to the comments section to express their disappointment with Harris’ performance, calling out the “word salad” nature of her answers and the lack of substance. The interview’s content, centered largely on abortion rights, did little to sway undecided voters or engage new supporters. Harris repeatedly hammered the same talking points that have been staples of her rhetoric, criticizing former President Donald Trump’s stance on abortion and the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. While Harris and Cooper aimed to frame the discussion as a defense of women’s rights, many listeners felt it was a predictable, uninspiring repetition of Democratic talking points.
A commenter also stated, “Break out the dressing, word salad incoming,” a sentiment echoed by others who found Harris’ answers to be vague and unconvincing. Another user speculated about the podcast’s next move, posting, “How long before these comments get disabled??” indicating the growing sentiment that the Vice President’s media team might soon take action to control the narrative by disabling comments or limiting visibility.

A few folks in the comment section were also deeply disappointed in Cooper, slamming the show host for allowing Harris to control the conversation and not offering any sort of legitimate push back or asking hard questions that Americans want answers to. One such user said, “The host of this podcast just nuked any perceived credibility she had,” going on to state that Cooper being in lockstep with the vice president diminished the authenticity of the program.
For many, the episode came off as a blatant attempt to appeal to young, progressive voters—a tactic that has been repeatedly criticized as superficial and out of touch. Comments such as, “Call Her Daddy Podcast is gonna go down hill fast after this,” reflected the growing disillusionment with Harris’ efforts to connect with younger audiences. The interview seemed more like a poorly executed campaign ad than a genuine conversation, and viewers weren’t buying it. In a particularly cringeworthy moment, Harris tried to connect with Cooper’s younger audience by referencing TikTok trends and casual lingo. However, the attempt backfired as many listeners found it patronizing and inauthentic. One user, called out the performative nature of the conversation, saying, “The cringe and lip service is off the charts.”
What Democrats don’t get is that Americans have had a very bad experience with the leadership of President Joe Biden and his minion, Vice President Harris. We have questions concerning policies and how they will help us become prosperous again. How will Harris protect our God-given rights encoded in the Constitution? As of now, we don’t really have any answers to these questions. And Cooper didn’t do jack squat to help get them.
