During a press conference at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday evening, President-elect Donald Trump revealed the true reason the United States should be aggressively pursuing control over Greenland, going on to say that we need the country “very badly” for national security purposes. Lots of folks have been wondering what in the world the obsession is with Greenland and this makes perfect sense. It’s strategically located in an area that would be advantageous both economically and militarily, providing a base of operations for missile defense systems that could be critical in the future.
And you can be assured that if Trump is laying on the pressure this thick, then other nations probably also recognize the strategic value of Greenland and are likely going to make a play for it sometime soon.
According to The Daily Wire, when the president-elect was asked what the price tag for purchasing Greenland from Denmark would be he responded, “Well, maybe no price tag.”
“Look, we’re gonna have to see what happens, because Denmark, we need this for national security,” Trump said. “We need Greenland very badly. You look at the Russian ships, the Chinese ships, they’re all over the place. They’re surrounding. Now they have for a long time, that’s a lane, but we need that for national security.”
“So I don’t know that Denmark has any right, title, and interest, and we’re going to find that out,” he added.
Trump said that Denmark understandably does not want to give up the island, but it will pay a price if it doesn’t.
“Now Denmark maybe doesn’t like it, but then we can’t be too happy with Denmark,” he went on to say. “And maybe things have to happen with respect to Denmark having to do with tariffs.”
Trump then stated that it’s his belief Denmark has “to do this I think for the free world.”
Sounds rather ominous, right? What does he know that the rest of us don’t? Is he seeing the writing on the wall about the inevitability of a possible global or nuclear conflict? Terrifying thoughts to ponder.
“We need that to protect the free world, it’s very important, and getting more important every year,” Trump explained.

Trump on Tuesday repeatedly refused to rule out using the U.S. military to acquire Greenland and the Panama Canal when asked if he could “assure the world” that he would not “use military or economic coercion” to acquire the two areas.
“No,” Trump told the reporter. “I can’t assure you, you’re talking about Panama and Greenland. No, I can’t assure you on either of those two, but I can say this, we need them for economic security. The Panama Canal was built for our military.”
The same journalist then asked the incoming commander-in-chief if he would commit not to using military force to take Greenland or the Panama Canal.
“I’m not going to commit to that,” Trump concluded. “No, it might be that you’ll have to do something.”
