A video clip of California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom has resurfaced and it’s going viral. This thing is an absolute gut-buster. No cap. As the kids today would say. I apologize. I’ll never use Gen Z slang again. Anyway, during Newsom’s time serving as the lieutenant governor of the state, he made a huge error in judgment and decided to sit down for a chat with popular comedian and podcast host Adam Carolla. Big mistake.
During the conversation, Newsom tried to talk about racial disparities, but things went south as soon as Carolla pressed him with a series of very straightforward questions concerning the issue. Unfortunately, the future governor was left stumped and couldn’t give a coherent answer to save his life. You just have to watch this to see how funny it is.
You can see it here.
And that’s not the only clip of Newsom that’s gone viral lately. Newsweek reported on a clip captured by a crew from Sky News that features residents of Pacific Palisades, a community in Los Angeles that has been absolutely devastated by the wildfires that have ravaged the area for the last several weeks, confronting the governing. It’s not pretty.
Resident Rachel Darvish came up to Newsom on the street Thursday and spoke with him about what he was doing to help gain control over the wildfires in the community, which many experts are calling the most destructive in the city’s history.
WOW. This woman literally ran up to Gavin Newsom on the street and demanded answers on his disastrous wildfires response — and she was NOT taking no for an answer. Good for her. pic.twitter.com/GNjUATtKXt

Newsom told Darvish that he was trying to reach President Joe Biden to discuss the response, but the lack of cellphone coverage meant he was unable to get through to the White House. Darvish questioned why fire hydrants in the Palisades ran out of water while firefighters were tackling the huge blazes. She told the governor that she would “fill up hydrants myself” and asked Newsom if he would do the same. “I would do whatever I can,” Newsom replied.
“But you’re not,” Darvish said. “There’s water dripping over there. Governor, there’s water coming out there. You can use it.” Darvish then asked Newsom if she could “have an opportunity to at least tell people you’re doing what you’re saying you’re doing.” Izzy Gardon, Newsom’s director of communications, told Newsweek that the governor got through to Biden after speaking to Darvish. The president then announced that the federal government would cover 100 percent of costs for the response to the Los Angeles wildfires for at least 180 days, up from the traditional 75 percent.
This guy’s response to the fire is total joke. If not for his poor leadership and that of Mayor Bass, it’s likely these fires could have been handled with minimal damage. It’s too late now. Let’s hope future political efforts made by Newsom suffer as a result of his incompetent leadership.
