You know something looks horrifically stupid when a panel of CNN left-wing cronies can’t even defend something being done by the Democratic Party. In fact, a recent panel discussion that aired on Tuesday during “CNN NewsNight,” which featured host Abby Phillip, leftist Bakari Sellers, and former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson, alongside GOP pundit Scott Jennings, making a complete mockery of a recent Democratic Party protest.
What were they protesting? Billionaire X owner Elon Musk.

Phillips kicked things off by showing some video clips from the protest, making the suggestion that Democrats who were involved in the event look at both Trump and Musk as “a pinata in search of a stick.” The clips featured Reps. Ayanna Pressley, a Massachusetts Democrat, Jasmine Crockett of Texas, and Sen. Chris Murphy of Connecticut, all bellowing their heads off in a strange rant about Musk being involved in Trump’s administration.
Seeing as Musk has been tasked with auditing federal spending, you have to wonder what it is the left wants to keep hidden. I would venture to say that a lot of corruption will be revealed concerning taxpayer dollars that went to make politicians rich instead of being used to help Americans.
“We are gonna be in your face, we are gonna be on your a**,” Crockett said in what appears to be an attempt at some kind of threat. “We have days to stop the destruction of our democracy!” Murphy yelled.
While the clips were coming to an end, Phillip were doing her best to keep from bursting out in laughter. It was already past that point for Jennings. He was doubled over, about to bust a gut from the hilarity contained in the videos.
“I’m so sorry, can we play it again?” he asked her, but Phillip moved to Carlson for the first reaction to the master class in melodrama they just watched.
“The Democrats need a real leader, ok? They need a real leader, which currently does not exist in the Democratic Party,” Carlson said in her response to the clips. “And they have been completely flat-footed with the entire Trump presidency for the last two weeks and Elon Musk. I said on CNN months ago that Elon Musk would be the most influential advisor to President Trump, and that is proving to be true whether you like it or not. But Democrats should have had a plan for this. They knew it was coming.”
Sellers, despite being a Democrat himself, made it clear that he was unimpressed by the protest efforts: “I’m fired up and ready to go, can’t you see it in my face?”
Sellers suggested that the real problem with the protests was that the wrong people were in the spotlight: “I don’t want to hear Chuck Schumer saying, ‘We won’t lose’ and ‘We won’t rest.’ I’d rather have a small business owner up there talking about the impact on them. I’d rather have somebody who was displaced, who was a black woman, who’s worked hard to have her business out there chanting and talking about —”
“And they need to pick their targets because there is a risk here that they end up going to bat over things that Americans are like, ‘What does this have to do with me?’” Phillip interjected.
Jennings, who was still getting a kick out of the clips, then said, “I think the highlight reel that you just played, spliced with the highlight reel of all the people trying to run the Democratic National Committee at their organizational meeting, ought to be put together. And we ought to take money from the Republican National Committee and play it on a loop.”
“Ladies and gentlemen: The American Left is so far off the rails, they’re going to have to get Google Maps to find their way back. They’re way gone right now, and it’s glorious!” he howled.
