Left-wing celebrities are not coping well with the victory of President-elect Donald Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris in Tuesday’s election. Many of them are experiencing total mental breakdowns and throwing temper tantrums you’d expect of toddlers, but are being carried out by some entertainment industry folks who are well into their sixth decade of life. Which is why so many of us are convinced that to be a liberal is to be mentally ill.
I have to admit, watching progressive Hollywood collectively go insane over the fact they were carried out to the proverbial political sea by the red wave that crashed into their delusions on Tuesday has been a rather delightful experience. That may sound petty, but I don’t care. Conservatives have been slandered as conspiracy theorists, Hitler, Nazis, garbage, and all kinds of things for the last four years. Forgive me if my gloating over the tears of liberals offends your delicate sensibilities.
Many of the more popular celebs, the ones we call “A-Listers” who threw their support behind Harris have stayed quiet. Others, however, have opted to let it all hang out on social media, expressing their rage at seeing Trump snag a massive victory.
Here are a few of the best celebrity reactions via The Daily Wire, starting with rapper Cardi B:
Rapper Cardi B, who spoke at a Harris rally right before election day, originally posted a video in which she said, “This is why some of y’all states be getting hurricanes,” before quickly deleting it, per Variety, seemingly referring to states that went red. “I hate y’all bad,” she said in response to the results. She responded to someone asking if she’d appear at Trump’s inauguration during an Instagram live by saying: “I’m sick of you! Burn your f***ing hats, motherf***er. I’m really sad. I swear to God I’m really sad.”
Actress Jamie Lee Curtis posted a lengthy reaction, too, worrying that the country would have “a return to a more restrictive, some fear draconian time” with a particular threat for minority groups. “Gay and trans people will be more afraid,” she posted on Instagram. “We know that many women will now find it difficult to get the reproductive healthcare that they need and deserve. For all those people there will be those who will help you. Me included.”
What, exactly, are gay and transgender people afraid of? Look, if you want to live in your mental illness and delusions, go right ahead. You have the freedom to live your life however you want. But don’t try to force me to play along and encourage that kind of behavior. People aren’t going to attack you in the street with pitchforks. Just stop trying to play off your behavior as normal. It’s not.
“But what it really means is that we wake up and fight,” Curtis continued in the post. “Fight for women and our children and their futures and fight against tyranny, one day at a time. One fight at a time. One protest at a time. That’s what it means to be an American.”
Actor John Cusack wrote in an X post, “The fact that the country would choose to destroy itself by voting in a convicted felon rapist and Nazi is a sign of deep nihilism. To put it mildly.”
Cope and seethe, Cusack. If this guy did any actual historical research into the kind of policy platform Adolf Hitler and the Nazis promoted, he’d quickly see it lines up well with that pushed by his own party. But that takes discernment, intelligence, and hard work. Something totally foreign to the non irrelevant actor.
Christina Applegate had her own extreme reaction. “My child is sobbing because her rights as a woman may be taken away,” she wrote. “Why? And if you disagree, please unfollow me,” she posted on X.
That’s code for “right to mercilessly murder a pre-born child.” According to God, who makes all the rules, she never had this “right” to begin with. Therefore, Trump becoming president has not cost her anything.
“Please unfollow me if you voted against female rights,” she went on to say in follow-up. “Against disability rights. Yeah that. Unfollow me because what you did is unreal. Don’t want followers like this. So yeah. Done. Also after today I will be shutting down this fan account that I have had for so many years because this is sick.”
Outspoken liberal horror author Stephen King posted, “There’s a sign you can see in many shops that sell beautiful but fragile items: LOVELY TO LOOK AT, DELIGHTFUL TO HOLD, BUT ONCE YOU BREAK IT, THEN IT’S SOLD. You can say the same about democracy.”
Singer Billie Eilish posted to her Instagram, writing, “It’s a war on women,” over a black background. Singer Ariana Grande wrote, “Holding the hand of every person who is feeling the immeasurable heaviness of this outcome today.”
Liberal tears are delicious.
