Scott Jennings, a contributor with CNN, received very little pushback and even a bit of agreement from his colleagues at the network when he slammed Vice President Kamala Harris for politicizing Hurricane Milton by launching an assault against Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis. You have a guy who has been a supremely good leader for the state, leading it in attacks against wokeness, against the COVID lockdowns, and has been there for his people during some absolutely horrific storms, and for some reason, Harris felt it would help her campaign by attacking the guy for allegedly not answering her phone calls.
The Democratic Party nominee referred to DeSantis as “selfish” for not returning her phone calls about the incoming hurricane, despite the fact the Florida governor saying that he was completely unaware she had attempted to contact him. He then explained that Harris, as vice president, “has no role” in the efforts he makes to prepare for a hurricane.
Reporter: There are reports that DeSantis is ignoring your calls..
Kamala Harris: Playing political games at this moment…It's utterly irresponsible and it is selfish and it is about political gamesmanship instead of doing the job that you took an oath to do pic.twitter.com/lySDD98xO9

“She’s attacking the governor of a state that’s about to get lashed with one of the most historic hurricanes we’ve ever seen,” Jennings stated Tuesday on CNN. “Is she crazy?”
“She was talking broadly about the politicization of the storms,” CNN correspondent Abby Philip incorrectly stated.
“I think she was talking about Ron DeSantis,” Jennings continued, according to The Daily Wire. “He did not ignore her call, and, in fact, according to what I’ve read tonight, he’s actually spoken to the President of the United States.” Phillips then confirmed that DeSantis had been in contact with the president.
Another CNN panelist said Jennings was right: “Yeah, I hate to agree with Scott on anything, but I agree in this case.” “There’s too much disinformation, misinformation, or things that are not factual swirling around about the hurricane. I actually think the facts are bad enough,” Jennings continued. “When the storm came ashore, Biden was at the beach, Harris was raising money, and that was on September 26. On September 27, we had devastation in North Carolina. It wasn’t until October the second that the president mobilized the military. And it wasn’t until the fifth that they mobilized search-and-rescue out of the military.” “There is a conversation to be had here about spending priorities and also about presidential decision-making,” Jennings added. Philip agreed with Jennings on spending priorities.
Kamala Harris going after Ron DeSantis in regard to Hurricane Milton is probably the biggest unforced error she has made this entire campaign.

What’s also humorous about this is that President Joe Biden himself actually undermined Harris’ narrative on Tuesday when he informed the press that he was working well with DeSantis whom he stated was doing a “great job.” How much do you want to bet that statement really made Harris mad? After all, she’s trying to paint up all Republicans as evil and vile in order to bolster her numbers and when the president, her own boss, comes out against the story she’s trying to tell, well, it makes her look bad.
To be fair, however, Harris really doesn’t need any help to look bad. She’s done a bang up job on that front all by her lonesome.
Holy crap, Joe Biden just said Ron DeSantis has his direct number, is doing a great job on hurricane response, directly undercutting Kamala. Biden hates her. Not hiding it now: pic.twitter.com/Bm95Nh75Iq
