Back in the later part of March 2024, Jessica Tarlov, a co-host and news personality with Fox News, got into a rather heated exchange with conservative African-American co-host Leo Terrell, and it got spicy, ladies and gentlemen. We’re talking level 10 hot wing sauce kind of fire. The stuff that gives you a raging case of the bubble guts before exiting your body like a nuclear explosion in the toilet, kind of heat. I think you get my drift.
The two individuals got into verbal fisticuffs during a March 28 broadcast of the network’s “The Story” along with guest anchor Trey Gallagher concerning the issue of Israel and President Joe Biden.
According to The American Tribune:
The fight began in the context of President Biden’s high-dollar New York fundraiser, one which raised about $25 million for the president’s re-election campaign. However, though they were ostensibly to discuss the fundraiser, the conversation grew much more heated when the issue of pro-Palestine protesters potentially interrupting the event came up.
During Thursday’s broadcast of The Story, Terell and Tarlov were ostensibly brought on to discuss a high-dollar fundraiser planned for Biden that is expected to net the president’s re-election campaign upwards of $25 million. The conversation grew more heated, however, when guest anchor Trace Gallagher noted that pro-Palestinian protesters would likely interrupt the event.
Gallagher kicked off the segment by providing an introduction to the topic, saying, “We just talked with Sen. Rick Scott, who is in Israel right now and he says listen, [Israeli Prime Minister] Benjamin Netanyahu told him he is not backing off, they are going into Rafah. And he will have these protests outside Radio City Hall by these pro-Palestinian supporters, and if Benjamin Netanyahu is accurate to his word I mean the president will have a very tough time trying to win those protesters over.”
Tarlov immediately jumped into the conversation, pointing out that the war in Gaza is an extremely important issue among young voters. “Gaza is a big issue,” for those in Gen Z, she went on to say during the segment, going on to add that President Biden is trying to find some sort of middle way to handle the situation is looking for a “solution where we have a humanitarian fix but also make sure Israel is allowed to finish the job and to get those hostages home.”
Terrell then got involved and leveled an accusation against Biden saying he was abandoning Israel, going on to say, “Joe Biden has a Michigan policy—kowtow to the pro-Palestinian groups in America. He has abandoned Israel.” He continued, “It’s not just Israel he abandoned! Jewish Americans attending universities! Let’s be clear, Joe Biden will do anything to win Michigan [by] throwing our biggest ally under the bus, throwing Jewish Americans under the bus! Shame on Joe Biden! This is ridiculous! It’s outrageous!”
Tarlov fired back by telling Terrell that she is the “only Jewish-American on the panel.” Terrell went nuclear on her, yelling, “Don’t play that—don’t do that! Don’t do that! That’s not the point,” Tarlov fired back, saying that Terrell had mentioned Jewish Americans’ opinion on Biden first. He yelled, “Oh, okay! You’re a big-time Democrat, and you’re going to defend Joe Biden notwithstanding the numbers.” He continued, “And you know he is throwing Israel under the bus! And he’s thrown Jewish American students under the bus at all these universities! It’s sickening!”
Tarlov, responding, said, “I know he wants a solid fix and I know he also understands within Israel there are problems with Benjamin Netanyahu’s leadership. I think what you’re saying is very dangerous, just like what President Trump was saying.” Terrell snapped, “Dangerous?! Dangerous,” to which Tarlov snapped, “Why are you yelling?!”
Whew! That was very intense. But hey, when you have deeply held convictions, it’s really hard to keep all those emotions in check, especially in this day and age where practically any and every conversation somehow ends in an argument.
Regardless, we need to ensure that we lend reasonable aid to Israel as they are our only true ally in a region where almost all of our enemies hail from. What that looks likes is far above my pay grade.
