This should go without saying, but a person should not be chosen for a certain position within a company based on the color of their skin, sexual orientation, or any other absurd and utterly inconsequential physical or philosophical trait. This is common human decency and fairness, something the individuals involved in the Civil Rights Movement fought furiously for back in the 1960s which is now being obliterated by radical left through the concept of diversity hires.
Of course, those involved in this will claim up and down they are actually fighting racism by handing over positions to candidates who are minorities and passing by the white folk who are also vying for the job. This, they say, leads to better representation for minority groups in the workplace, especially in what some would call “white collar positions.”
In other words, they are trying to fight racism with more racism, which, as we all know, is illogical, because what you’re really doing is just making more racism.
So white candidates who are actually the best fit for a particular job, like say an airplane pilot, are being passed over in order to hire a black person to fill the spot, despite not having nearly the same experience and skill level, which, by the way, puts passengers in danger when flying on that particular plane. And some black individuals who are best suited for a certain job are being ignored in favor of Asian or Indian workers simply because businesses need to have a certain number of each group for representation. You see how this works? It’s ridiculous.
And that brings us to the ABC network’s recent booting of their most “historic” diversity hire, Kim Godwin, who was made president of ABC News and just resigned from her position after an investigation was launched into how she was managing the company.
Here’s more on this from The Daily Caller:
The overseer of the network, Debra O’Connell, opened a corporate investigation into Godwin and other senior executives over the growing frustration among staffers, vacant top positions and the drop in ratings at its prominent program, “Good Morning America.” Several people alleged Godwin dedicated more time to her profile than creating success in the news division, and that her mismanagement “shocked” O’Connell, WSJ reported.
“I have decided to retire from broadcast journalism,” Godwin revealed in an email sent out to staff Sunday night, according to WSJ. “Anyone who’s passionate about what we do knows there’s no other business like it, so this was not an easy or quick decision. But after considerable reflection, I’m certain it’s the right one for me as I look to the future and prioritize what’s most important for me and my family.”
Staffers have reportedly been appalled by Godwin’s leadership style and the several vacant seats of key positions, CNN reported Friday. Prominent people, including its former head of talent Galen Gordon and its previous Washington bureau chief Jonathan Greenberger, left ABC News under her leadership.
Several executives were laid off in March 2023, reportedly causing “shock” throughout the newsroom. Godwin told her staff the downsizing was a “difficult time” for the entire network, but vowed they were on a “solid footing.”

Back in January 2021, liberals all over the country were throwing celebratory fists in the air after hearing the news about Godwin’s “historic” hiring at the network, but only due to the color of her skin and not because of her skill.
It’s Official: #KimGodwin Makes History as 1st Black Woman to Head @ABC. Godwin's historic appointment makes her not only the 1st Black president of ABC News but 1st Black woman to head a broadcast network news operation. She begins her role in early May. https://t.co/XzBVnGK62b

“O’Connell became the president of parent company Disney’s news division following a restructuring of the network in February, according to WSJ. Her power to oversee the network appeared to be a demotion for Godwin, who replaced her in leading editorial meetings and becoming increasingly hands on in the newsroom,” the report went on to say.
She then issued a big thank you to Godwin for using her “respect for the brand and division” while at the same time “having navigated this team through consequential times in our world.”
Her defenders alleged Godwin is treated with more scrutiny than other executives due to her race, according to WSJ. ABC News’ Chief Washington correspondent Jonathan Karl said Godwin is a “crazy workaholic” and the allegations against her “certainly does not reflect the reality of who she is.”
This is proof this way of thinking, the whole diversity hire strategy, does not work. It actually sets companies up for failure. Hire the best person for the job. If they are black, hire them. If they are white, hire them. Any other color or ethnicity? Hey, if the resume shows they are highly qualified and have the skills and personality you’re looking for, give them the job.
This is not rocket science.
