Former President Donald Trump has decided not to do an interview with CBS News’ most popular program, 60 Minutes, which was scheduled for next week, stating that the network still owes him an apology for an interview they did back in 2020, which Trump says was handled unfairly. I mean, yeah, it probably was unfair, given it was conducted by one of the biggest propagandist networks on cable television. We all know the mainstream media is all in for whatever Democrats want, regardless of the compromises they have to make concerning their principles and journalistic ethics.
Here’s more on the story from The Daily Wire:
The news program reached out to both Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, requesting that they sit down for interviews just weeks before Election Day. Harris agreed to an interview with CBS News correspondent Bill Whitaker, but Trump rejected an offer to sit down with Scott Pelley for an interview that would air next Monday. CBS said on Tuesday that Trump backed out of the interview after initially agreeing to it, but Trump campaign Communications Director Steven Cheung shot back at the network, saying, “60 Minutes begged for an interview, even after they were caught lying about Hunter Biden’s laptop back in 2020. There were initial discussions, but nothing was ever scheduled or locked in.”
“They also insisted on doing live fact checking, which is unprecedented,” Cheung stated.
On Tuesday evening, during a press conference in the city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Trump discussed the offer from the program to do an interview, saying that he “would love to do ’60 Minutes'” but he’s still waiting for them to apologize to him for the handling of the previous appearance he made on the show.
During the above mentioned 2020 interview, Trump walked out of the conversation with Leslie Stahl after the host fact-checked him several times and then denied that Joe Biden was involved in anyway with a scandal involving his son Hunter Biden’s laptop, which allegedly contained information about an influence peddling scheme the family was involved with, including then-Vice President Biden.
“Well, right now, they came to me and would like me to do an interview, but first I want to get an apology, because the last time I did an interview with them, if you remember, they challenged me on the computer,” Trump stated. “They said the ‘laptop from hell’ was from Russia, and I said it wasn’t from Russia.”
“If you remember Lesley Stahl, we got into a little bit of an argument on the camera, talking about that and other things. And you know, they really owed me an apology,” Trump explained.
Harris’ interview on “60 Minutes” will air on Monday, October 7, and CBS said the conversation will focus on the economy, immigration, and continued global conflicts. Harris was interviewed by Whitaker on “60 Minutes” last October after Hamas’ brutal October 7 attack on Israel and was asked what message the Biden-Harris administration would send to Iran.
“Don’t,” Harris replied, repeating a response given by President Joe Biden. “One word. Pretty straightforward.”
That situation has escalated significantly in recent days with Iran firing off over 150 missiles at Israel.
