NOTE: The following article is satire, not a statement of fact. Treat it as such.
What happened to Liz Cheney? According to her, during a recent (shocking, for her) interview on far-right Newsmax, she was in a “fugue” state during the past few years and that it “must have been something in the water” that caused her to act the way she did, so viciously anti-Trump.
Speaking on that, Lyin Liz Cheney said, when speaking on the program and wearing a red MAGA hat:
“Look, I know everyone hates me right now. And, frankly, I’d hate me too. I did a pretty terrible thing attacking Trump the way I did. That was nasty. I can see why the former president attacked me that way. I deserved it!
“But what you have to understand is that I didn’t understand what I was doing. I was in what might be called a fugue state, just acting in a certain way without realizing it all the while.
“Perhaps you won’t believe me. There’s no real reason why you should other than that I’m saying it, but I’m giving you my word that that’s what went on. I don’t know what the case was, why I was like that, or anything else about it. Heck, maybe it was just something in the water. I’m going to buy myself a water filter just to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
“So, if President Trump is listening to this, I want him to know: I didn’t mean to do anything, didn’t realize I was attacking Trump when I was doing so, and didn’t have any control over the matter. Please forgive me, I meant no harm and didn’t understand what was going on.”
But then, if anyone was convinced by that ridiculous explanation, Liz gave away the game with her final bit and plea, saying:
“So, Wyoming voters, that’s what happened. I understand why you dislike me and all that. But I’ll be running as an independent and promise to be a real conservative if you elect me.”
And thus she gave away the game, exposing that the real goal wasn’t to apologize for attacking Trump so viciously or to explain in a truthful and forthright fashion what went on with her over the past few years, but rather just to get re-elected and get her old, cushy job back so that she can keep making money from doing who knows what while technically a member of Congress.
As such, she was quickly booed and bounced out of the Newsmax studio by the staff, with them waking up to the game and what Liz was trying to do on their network. Not wanting to make a mistake that would cost them their conservative audience, the Newsmax team got her out of there as fast as possible.
