NOTE: The following article is satire, not a statement of fact. Treat it as such.
Taking things yet further in the war on the 2nd Amendment waged by the left and the RINOs was President joe Biden, who just released a press statement saying:
Today, in a new op-ed, President Biden announced that the Biden-Harris Administration is taking new action to implement the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act and maximize the benefits of the law, reducing gun violence and saving lives.
The op-ed also honors the lives of those killed one year ago in the Buffalo, New York shooting, and the Uvalde, Texas shooting which came less than two weeks later.
Last year, President Biden carried their message back to Washington, and signed into law the most significant gun safety legislation in nearly 30 years. But Congress still must take additional action to save lives.
As the President writes, “I have already taken more executive action to reduce gun violence than any other president, and I will continue to pursue every legal and effective action. But my power is not absolute. Congress must act, including by banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, requiring gun owners to securely store their firearms, requiring background checks for all gun sales, and repealing gun manufacturers’ immunity from liability. We also need more governors and state legislators to take these steps.”
The op-ed then continued, saying, “The majority of Americans – even the majority of gun owners – want Congress to take some commonsense action to reduce gun violence. But too many congressional Republicans are doing the bidding of gun manufacturers instead of their constituents.”
And what “commonsense” steps was President Biden demanding Congress pass? He wanted them to get rid of the 2nd Amendment. Continuing in the op-ed, he wrote:
“Now, look, this is important: what we need to do is get rid of that instrument of gun violence that Republicans love so much. What we need to do is get rid of the 2d Amendment before yet more Americans die because of it, killed because of a few irrational and radical Senators and Congressmen unwilling to do what it takes to keep our communities safe from the plague of gun violence that has killed os many young men, women, and children in America.
“So that’s what I am calling for and what I demand from you. It’s what is needed to keep our communities safe, to keep us from avoiding being murdered by some radical gun fanatics for no reason other than…well, other than a refusal to get rid of a very radical amendment that has no basis is modern America.”
RINO Congressman Dan Crenshaw, proponent of red flag laws, called the radical demand “an excellent basis for negotiations moving forward.”
