NOTE: the following article is satire, not a statement of fact. Treat it as such.
It was another rough day for the Biden Administration, this time thanks to an awkward exchange between a Biden Administration economic official and an angry member of the crowd during a recent speech, with the Biden official claiming that everything is going great and things are improving for the middle class…then getting humiliated when an audience member asked about Hunter Biden’s sketchy business activities abroad.
Beginning, the Biden official first commented on the general malaise in America and claimed that the Biden Administration is taking effective action to limit the extent of that financial pain for ordinary Americans, saying:
Good morning. It’s great to be here to kick off today’s conference and speak to one of the most important issues in the President’s economic agenda – lowering costs and increasing access to housing for Americans. President Biden knows that too many Americans feel the path to the middle class is out of reach. He is fighting to lower costs on everything from prescription drugs to a gallon of gas. For many Americans, housing expenses are the biggest of their monthly costs, which is why housing affordability is at the center of having a little breathing room at the end of each month.
Then, getting into the housing issue, the Biden official argued that affordable housing is a key plank in the Biden Administration’s efforts and what is being done to make housing more affordable for the everyday American, saying:
Housing that is affordable provides a vital foundation to achieve other goals, such as securing a good job, engaging in training and education, providing for children, and building a financial cushion. Our agenda has been guided by the goal of lowering housing costs. During the pandemic, that meant ensuring Americans could afford to remain in their housing despite the disruption to incomes. Since the recovery, our agenda has focused on increasing the availability of housing that Americans can afford, lowering costs for homebuyers, and lowering costs and promoting competition and fairness for renters. I will discuss each in turn.
That’s when the audience member stood up and interjected, “What, like Hunter?” he asked. The flummoxed official glared, took a sip of water, studiously avoided the question, and then tried to continue, attempting to restart the speech on how wonderful everything is.
But the audience member wasn’t having it. “No, answer my question! You claimed you’re out here trying to help us, but that sure as hell ain’t true! I can tell what you’re doing! You’re not trying to help us, you’re just trying to save your own skins. You don’t know what’s going on. You don’t know how we’re suffering or what we’re feeling. You just think like Hunter Biden: ‘how much can I squeeze out of the American economy, or what remains of it, using my influence?’ You scumbags can go-”
At that point, the heckler was dragged out of the event by obviously angry security guards.
